XLVets Ireland has committed to becoming a more sustainable organisation, with itself and XLVets Skillnet successfully completing a six-month audit process to achieve an Eco Merit award; where we have signed up on agreed goals over the coming five years, auditable annually. XLVets Ireland has also commissioned a research project on the sustainable options within a veterinary practice, to better understand what changes can be made now and what tools & training are needed to support. This research is to understand what options are available in veterinary nationally, internationally, as well as what other industries are doing; in addition to a number of member businesses completing the heavy audit process, thereby gathering the commonalities, challenges to develop those opportunities to be more sustainable.

Along with a group of industry stakeholders, XLVets Ireland is pleased to announce a “Sustainable Livestock production, meeting 2030 targets” CAVI event, January 18th in the Tullamore Court Hotel, Offaly. The event will be an international and national viewpoint from multi stakeholders to inform us on the current state and the works of other bodies. This session will be followed by a case study & workshop sessions at CAVI 2023, where XLVets Ireland will be a key stakeholder, presenting tools & training to help you and your business to be more sustainable, in the years ahead.
