Glasslyn Vets is a progressive 21 vet, mixed practice, based in Bandon, Co. Cork with clinics in Macroom, Kinsale and Dunmanway. Their 16 Vet Farm Animal team has a keen interest in all areas of cattle practice especially Dairy Herd Health. The practice has multiple holders of UCD’s Post Graduate Certificates and actively participates in all Animal Health Ireland Programmes. They are members of XLVets and strongly promote CPD to their all staff.  Exceptional supportive team of nurses and vets with excellent levels of equipment, and case load.

Permanent and Fixed term maternity contract roles (September-June 2025) available

The ideal candidate would be:

• Experience preferred but not essential.
• Excellent back- up
• Enthusiastic
• 1:3 Spring rota extending to 1:8 Sunday rota for off peak months
• Vehicle can be supplied.
• Graduate programme available to new vets

Preference is for a minimum two years’ experience, but all applicants will be considered and replied to. CPD encouraged and salary commensurate with experience. Generous benefits package includes pension contributions, sick pay and generous CPD through XLVets.

The ideal candidate would be:

• Registered with VCI
• Have experience in Dairy practice with good clinical skills.
• Be self-motivated and able to work independently on their own initiative.
• Be a team player with ability to lead specific projects.
• Have good communication, analytical and organisational skills.
• Trained in AHI Schemes
• Interested in bovine fertility – proficient in ultrasound use.
• Competent to provide basic small animal out of hours cover.
