“Brilliant initiative, excellent appreciation of the fabric of rural Ireland agri economy , environment and sustainability.
An initiative like this has the potential to bring Irish agri forward in a very respectful way. Keep up the good work! When is the next webinar?”

As a follow up to our hugely successful “Getting the most from the second half of the breeding season” webinar, on July 8th, XLVets Skillnet hosted a further event where over the course of 90 minutes our experts reviewed the Suckler Breeding Season to date.

This exciting event included a mix of on farm footage and live discussions with our panel of experts Donal Lynch, Slieve Bloom Veterinary, Conor Geraghty, Farmgate Veterinary , Doreen Corridan, Munster Bovine and John Heslin,  MSD Animal Health.

Our experts reviewed what’s happening in the field with cows and calves right now, getting the suckler cow back in calf, AI and heat detection in sucklers, where to get replacements and stock bull management along with fertility.

“As a busy vet and part time suckler farmer myself, we need to understand how we can make suckler farming more efficient, sustainable, profitable and easier to manage, all whilst striving for a healthier work life balance”, Donal Lynch, Slieve Bloom Veterinary.

Some comments from our viewers on the evening;

“I liked that the speakers on the evening are also farmers so it was very easy to relate to them”
