XLVets Ireland is delighted to welcome Shannonside Veterinary Group to our network of independent veterinary practices.  Located in Kilrush, Co. Clare, Shannonside Veterinary Group is a mixed animal practice formed in 2000 by practice principles Tommy Malone and Aidan O’Connell.  With roots in West Clare and County Kerry respectively, Tommy and Aidan have grown the practice from a two-vet operation into a team of seven.

Today, the practice consists of four vets, one veterinary nurse, and two dedicated support team members. Farm animal work accounts for approximately 60% of their caseload, companion animal work makes up 30%, and the remaining 10% is equine. Their premises include a fully equipped small animal clinic, as well as dedicated facilities for large animal procedures, including operations and mare scanning.

“Our main purpose in joining XLVets is to avail of their collective expertise and knowledge in the veterinary field within the network, in an endeavour to further enhance the professionalism and efficiency of our practice. We also look forward to sharing our own experience and insights with XLVets members.”
– Aidan O’Connell, Practice Principal, Shannonside Veterinary Group
