Glasslyn Vets are looking for a vet to join their 5-vet, 6-nurse small animal team. The position will be based in their newly refurbished and well-equipped clinic in Macroom with occasional duties at their main hospital in Bandon. Macroom is situated 30 mins from Cork city and Killarney. The ideal applicant will be:

  • Experienced in 1st opinion companion animal medicine
  • Enthusiastic with good interpersonal, organisational and communication skills and an ability to work in a team
  • Able to take sole charge and work independently with the support of the broader team including senior clinicians, head nurse and practice manager
  • Eager to enhance client experience and develop a growing clientele
  • Encouraged and funded to partake in further education up to certificate level
  • Part of a young, growing team with over 40 employees

The position has no OOH and includes a 1:4 Saturday rota. VCI and VDS covered. Salary commensurate with experience

They are a mixed practice, but cater separately for their small animal clients.Summerhill Vets provide the highest standard of care and have a fully equipped clinic – Digital X-ray, dental X-ray, ultrasound, Idexx bloods machine and in-house lab.3 full time RVNs cater solely for companion animals alongside 3 reception staff. Ideally, this is a full time role but some flexibility is available for the right candidate.

Large Animal Vet Position, Nenagh, Co Tipperary

Summerhill Vets, Nenagh are a mixed practice with 6 vets dedicated to large animals (majority dairy) and 2 vets to companion animals. They have a staff of 3 office/admin and 3 registered veterinary nurses.

The role is a full-time one, but they are flexible for the right candidate. It is a large animal role, but an interest in companion animals is a bonus. Their practice is herd health focused – 4 vets have completed a cert in Dairy Herd Health and 2 vets are currently undertaking the same. They have regular clinical club and in house CPD.

Standard holidays apply. Summerhill Vets have a young dynamic team with a positive & helpful working environment.

CPD is funded and encouraged. VDS is paid and they have a company pension plan.
